Owning a German car can be expensive, but that expense can pay off if reliability is something you look for in a vehicle, especially a German vehicle.

According to J.D. Power’s 2013 Vehicle Dependability Survey, Porsche was listed second overall, and Mercedes-Benz wasn’t far behind in the number 5 spot. For the second straight year, Lexus holds the crown ranking the highest brand in vehicle durability.

The study measured problems reported by the original owners on 2010 model year vehicles (3 years after ownership). The dependability score was calculated based on the number of problems experienced per 100 vehicles for that particular model. The lower the score, the higher the quality.

So to all the loyal Porsche and Mercedes-Benz owners out there, what do you think? Are you happy with the performance of your German vehicle?
